I know it's not the same thing, but have you seen:

Where I considering resurrecting a profile unit to actually *use* I'd
employ one of these boards inside the profile chassis and replace the
mechanism with something a bit more modern.

As fond as I am of the things though, I don't think I could bring
myself to use one anymore, unless I felt compelled to spend the rest of
my Apple II days using Pascal
