Close to the same topic, I just picked up an Apple IIc on the weekend
(free! a local shop was giving away 286 notebooks and there was a IIc in
the pile) and tried hooking its composite output to my TV and a Commodore
monitor. Oddly High-Res colors look fine, but Low-Res and Double-Hi-Res
colors seem out of whack, especially: yellow, brown and dark green. I have
to push the display's tint control to as far as it can be adjusted to resolve
that (from what I recall, my Apple II Plus clone had the same issue).
I tried my Apple IIGS's composite output to the same displays and there
is no need to adjust the display's tint, yellow is yellow, brown is brown
(and more solid looking than the IIc). My VOC gives the same results,
although obviously its a cleaner image with no bleeding around text.
The colors aren't as saturated through the VOC though but that's
probably because its doing hardware anti-aliasing.
