Re: One key on Apple II keyboard is dead - suggestions?

If you have any problem with your Apple, first thing to do is search
this newsgroup for similar problems. Use the keyword for your problem
and, if you know it, the name of the guru you think will have the
answer.

In this case, "keyboard switch Mahon" quickly led me to sagely advice
from Michael Mahon:

"The good news is that a small squirt of contact cleaner and
vigorous exercising of the faulty switch will usually clean
it up."

and

"Just get some contact cleaning fluid in through the top, and work the
switch plunger repeatedly. If that doesn't clean the contacts enough,
then replacing the keyswitch (or the whole keyboard) is the most
efficient approach."

Cheers,
Nick.
