Nothing like this has ever been posted on e-Bay. I
discovered this rare find in the attic of my neighbors. My neighbor
knew that I liked computers and had some old computer equipment that
she was looking to throw away. I offered to pay her for the "junk"
as she called it but she refused.
Ha! Sooo wrong.I've bought 3 setups identical to this one - all for around $80-$90 each on eBay, and have passed on 2 others I know of. All within the last 2 years.
The auction, last I checked was at an amazing $650 + $50 s/h. Looks I made some wise investments.
I congratulate the seller for his cash windfall, but at the same time I spike his "nothing like this has ever been posted on e-Bay"... it has, many times. The only thing missing is the obnoxious "RARE!!!" over and over again.
<rant>Part of the fun for me in getting back into the Apple II was that for a long time, all the cool expensive stuff had become affordable, more easily obtainable. Stuff I used to only dream of getting was sometimes given to me free - just to take it off someone's hands. Building the ultimate II was a lot easier. Not anymore - collectors, newbie retro people who don't have a grip on pricing... have driven the costs up.
Nah, the Apple II economy has definately changed. </rant>
