The Tiger Learning Computer was only sold in a small test market,
that is only one city in the US and for a short time. Nintendo did that
with their original game console in the fall of 1985, before releasing it
nationwide in 1986. The Tiger Learning Computer only got one step
beyond being a prototype, it never really went public.
Speaking of an Apple II retro device, how about a wirst watch
version of the Apple IIe, complete with LCD screen? You could
have a micro keyboard like those Casio calculator watches, and
a USB interface to get data on and off. I'm sure it could be done
with today's technology (the Mega II could be made small enough
to fit into a typical watch).
