If you look at those companies, you'll notice a pattern.

Atari- Out of business. Only the name survives.
Sega- Out of console business.
Intellivision- Casualty of crash of '84.
Coleco- Out of business.
Commodore- Out of business.

Apple's got bigger fish to fry. Most of the value carried by the names 
mentioned above is from products released 20+ years ago.  Hence, the new 
"retro" products.
