Ah yes.. I remember that - used to drool over the concept of using it.
Alas, it only
worked with the profile, and not later SCSI systems. I imagine this is
because both
the profile and the software was release prior to SmartPort, and the
profile manager
is specifically designed to recognise prodos block device ID bytes,
even though
it would theoretically work. Probably easy enough to hack it, but I've
never bothered
trying, and am unsure that the profile manager software would run on
pascal 1.3 anyway.

I was always disappointed that Apple didn't enhance this product
more... The Apple III
version was actually really nice, allowing file level access to SOS
volumes rather than
having to use the very shonky P-System disk layout (still had special
reserved file types
for pascal, though)

I always thought that with 1.3, which enabled use of the 128k Apple II
they could've
integrated most of the III features into the product and given it more
life, but I suppose by
then nobody really cared.

I still have a lot of fun with 1.3 on my IIe by using Applied
Engineerings RamDisk software, which even lets you fool the p-system
into thinking the ram drive is the boot
device.
