There was some mountain climbing game that acted hard-drive installable I think. Except it had some interesting copy-protection scheme and if the check failed after the first level your guy would get red-faced, have a heart attack and fall to his death. Something like that. Funny way to ward off the lazier pirates anyway. :-D
