Henry,
I assumed that you have bought it from eBay yesterday. I can tell that
it will not work for Apple IIgs. I am not too sure about this device. It
looks like one input and one output. The input picks up signal from Apple
IIgs' video port. Then output connects to VGA monitor. You use horizontial
frequency to convert from 15.7KHz to 30KHz. The result of this screen is
poor quality.
If you want to use VGA frame grabber device using USB to capture 560x192
screen, it will fail to lock the horizontial line because Apple IIgs is in
560x192 and VGA is in 640x200.
It is a good news when I bought oscilloscope equipment. I have to find
tutorial book, but there are many no-good tutorial on the website. I use
oscilloscope equipment to capture NTSC and RGB signals and convert signal
into binary to create DHGR table for NTSC. I have forgotten using
oscilloscope equipment many years back when I was majoring to electronic
engineering.
I would use your help to recommend the best book so I will have to buy
one from any bookstore. If my video project is completed, I will share with
the emulator programmers.
