Here are some more:

Its totally quiet and you can easily change cards to increase storage
space or boot a completely different system.

Reliable: new components, no head crashes
Heat: less than whatever big old HD controller card you're using now
Higher capacity: old drive is probably tens of megabytes at best (but really - how many megs does an Apple II need? ;)
Fashionable:  all the cool kids are getting them
