If I remember correctly, both the baseline Atari ST and the IIGS shared
the 320x200x16color graphics mode, while the Amiga would kick out 32
colors at the same resolution (not taking into account raster effects,
the IIgs's multipalette 256-color mode, etc etc.). I'd imagine people
targeting all 3 systems would go for a lowest-common-denominator
graphics mode.
I'd classify the IIgs as the weakest machine (without a ZipGS or
Transwarp, anyway), but you wouldn't know it looking at gems like
Rastan and Task Force.
