Re: Apple II Wikipedia articles
Hi Warren, here are my thoughts:
Yeah its very Very VerY VeRY VERY >VERY< similar because I used the
Apple2guide.net Peripheral Cards page as a rough outline for the main
"Apple II peripheral cards" page. I'm sure that you'll see that my
actual content under the new "Apple II serial cards" page and now
"Apple II system clocks" page resembles >>>ABSOLUTELY NOTHING<<< like
what Apple2guide.net has. (Unless gabriel mirrors the pages off
Wikipedia like he did with "Applesoft BASIC" and "Integer BASIC" (hence
all of the broken article links)).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_II_serial_cards
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_II_system_clocks *NEW*
As far as duplicating efforts.... whats the purpose of Apple2guide.net?
I'm not sure. Pretty much all of the encyclopedic content on the
guide, and MUCH MUCH more already exists on Wikipedia. I choose
Wikipedia over Apple2guide.net because there are dozens of editors to
collaborate with that work on Apple II articles there, not a small
handful, and I'm a lot more confident (since I don't know gabriel) that
Wikipedia will be there in 5-10 years than I am in Apple2guide.net. If
the guide works for you, great, they need editors too.
In defense of gabriel - its cool that he's providing an alternate
resource. I hope he can steer some "returning" Apple II users in the
right direction. The more exposure for the Apple II on the net, the
better.
