Thanks for the input.  Failing running the program on the current
machine, I will have to add a serial port.  Hypothetically that makes
the process easier, using other software.  But I'm hoping not to invest
in the Apple (or seriously alter it from the original), as I'm just
trying to retrieve some large database files I created way back then.
I was amazed that, after almost twenty years in the attic, it started
right up and ran.
