Re: Apple ][ and Mac question

Bummer. Well, at least the 460 has a VGA out that I can run through a KVM.

I have seen a number of posts regarding a VGA card for the ][gs, so I
imagine a convertor like the one coming with the 460 is not available for
the ][gs?

Correct. The IIgs uses very different scan standards, so it takes
a lot more than a cable adapter to connect to VGA.

Thanks for the reply!

You bet--good luck.

Newbie question alert - Are the Mac 12" RGB monitor and the Apple ][ 12"

RGB

monitor one and the same? I'm thinking about adding a Performa 460 to

the

collection. The 460 is coming with a VGA adaptor on the back of the unit
that will let me plug in a normal PC VGA monitor. If the Mac and

Apple ][

monitors are the same, shouldn't I be able to take the VGA adapter and

just

put it on the Apple ][?

I'm sure someone with more Mac knowledge than I can give you the
specifics on the Mac monitor, but the short answer is no--they are
not at all compatible. Neither can be used in place of the other.
