The irony here is that all your Apple II projects, the Applecrate and music synthesis could all be done on newer, more useful, more reliable and potentially more desireable equipment...

but you choose not to, and yet enjoy the challenge of doing those projects with an obsolete computer.

It may seem inconsistent, but actually it isn't.

My PC is modern, fast, etc., just as my preferred 8-bit Apple II's
are the most modern, fast, etc. of their class.

As computers have continued to be shaped by the marketplace, they
have become less friendly to play with, and so much less resource-
constrained that they make virtually no demands on craft. I enjoy
exercising my craft. ;-)

I sometimes compare it to a preference for hand tools over power tools.

I use PCs to do what I need to do and Apples to do what I love to do.
I enjoy both, but I'm sure you get the distinction.

I suspect I'm in the company of others who feel the same... ;-)

Music synthesis for 8-bit Apple II's!
