I'm almost 99% sure that it's the speakers. I recently got some Creative 
speakers and they are too boomy. Almost all of the non-audiophile 
computer speakers are made this way, and it has to do with the type of 
woofer design. I turned my woofer to face the wall instead of outward 
and that helps.
