A IIe is just a II+ & language card with the logic condensed onto
custom chips and newer firmware, to put it plainly.  Denser memory
chips help too.  You'll learn the most about the iie's theory of
operation by reading a good II+ hardware manual.  Everything is
standard 74xx series logic in the II+.
