Not at all; it has to do with market segment.

The z80 (slash 8080) was the cpu of choice for business
machines where things other than colour / missile graphics
were a priority.

The 6502 was suited for the home / hobbyist market -- its
low cost (a quarter of its competitors' cost when launched)
meant $ could be spent on things like colour, missile graphics /
sprites, sound, etc which were more of a priority for the
home.
