You are right. adt is the solution. I finally found it but it was not
easy as it was hidden inside Gerard Putter's Virtual II :
" A2V2 converts Apple II diskettes to disk image files and vice versa.
It is fully compatible with the ADT protocol. Design and programming:
Gerard Putter. ADT design: Paul Guertin. Additional testing: Dave
Dribin. A2V2 is free."
It seems to be what I was looking for:
-works under osx.
-xfers thru the serial port. even usb-serial adapters.
-automatically xfers and builds adt on the a2 side.
-xfers images in both directions.
