These $3 specials are what I wound up buying after all. They are the
same apple part number as the FDHD disk drives that go into the Mac
SE/30 and similarly aged macs - I looked it up this morning. They will
therefore fit into the Apple 3.5 drive just fine, which I why I bought
them.

3 drives plus $7 shipping were $16, which is quite the deal, and they
come with a 30-day warranty.
