That error is displayed after the MacIP Link Layer trys to register the
IIgs name as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:IPADDRESS:* with Appletalk.
Two things to check.
1) The currently released MacIP Link Layer (v1.2) cannot be assigned an
IP number by the MacIP server. Therefore, setup IPNetrouter to support
a static IP range for MacIP clients.
2) Have you configured the MacIP Link Layer settings correctly?
Open TCP/IP control panel
Click on Setup Connection
-enter Primary and Secondary DNS IP addresses
Select the MacIP Link Layer
Click on Configure...
-Local IP address. Enter an IP number to use as the local IP address
for the IIgs. You should set this to an IP address within the address
range that you setup within IPNetRouter.
-Gateway IP address. Can leave as search (recommended), or enter the IP
address of the MacIP service on the IPNetRouter machine (this machine
probably has 2 IP addresses, one for MacIP and one for Ethernet).
Hope that gets you going.
Cheers,
Andrew
