I was digging around for 2732a eproms on some old pc stuff i was
given...that shot a day...gave up and just got some off ebay...anyway
...they are used for xebec/sider eproms on the cards i have one i want to
mod and another just plain don't have one
anyway....while digging around i found something that prob did not take off
seeing's how it is lilke serial number 300 or some such
it is called a sup r external power supply for the //e or //+ by m and r
electronics...anyway..it looks like a platinum //e 5.25 black faced floppy
drive metal case (the one with the vents) and instead of a floppy drive
inside...it has a stamped U shaped metal case that is a combination of the
front (blank metal) bottom and back where there is the plug in for the //e
power cable and your standard //e type switch....ie yeah i looks like a disk
ii drive sized metal brick with approp metal feet for stacking and a (in my
view it could be longer only about 6") a standard ap2 power supply plug with
adaptor for a //+ or //e power supply port on the mother board
it is very comercial looking not a hack job has label on side and voltages
etc ...except for the length of the actual power cord to the // itself it
looks pretty cool...
anyway bill g. or someone might think this is a cool mod just wondering how
common these are?
not sure how the mnfg got a standard //e power supply inside this little
unit (creative hacksaw with jumpers?) but if you can bend metal in a U shape
for the front/bottom/back and use a standard // case it makes a nice little
way to have your power supply outside your loaded // or //e
anyway anyone else have any of these beasts ...is an odd power supply for
such avail that you can tell ....i'll yank mine apart here and see what is
inside if anyone is interested
