Profile HD

My old Apple Profile has crapped out. From the sounds, it is the drive. It
was always great to have ProDOS boot in about an instant with an 8 MHz
Zipchip and the Profile. It is an early no-serial-number model used
internally and the interface card thinks it is a 5MB instead of 10. It always
crashed to the monitor with a PR# startup and I had to C^P or whatever it was
and off it would go. Just a little head seek peep and everything is loaded!

I have not opened it up yet. Anybody know what I'm going to find and if I
can replace the drive with anything available today? Yipe! I doubt it. I'm in
the middle of trying to get an OSI Challenger to boot off the 8 inch
floppies. It did it once then quit. More cleaning I think and an equivalent
to an 8" head cleaning disk (big heavy Seimens 8" drives).

Cheers,
Charlie Springer
