Interesting. I'd like to run Contiki on my  ][+ as well. I was
scratching my head trying to figure out were I could find a fast NMOS
6502. Your experience is encouraging. Perhaps it's only an issue for
some ][+?

Do you know what revision your II+ is and who made the CPU? My II+ is
an RFI board (rev D) with a manufacure date of 5182.  The CPU is a
Synertek SY6502 with a date code of 8243.

Now I just need to get an Uther card! :)
