Doug, thats a good idea. I will look into providing something like that
with the card.
I had no problem setting the IP address manually, and then using DHCP. Both
worked well and I was able to ping.
Made the mistake of setting the screen saver to 0 timeout. Don't do that,
especially if you have transwarp active. Very difficult to backtrack through
menu's with the screensaver kicking on constantly. I figured 0 would disable
screensaver, wrong.
Would suggest for anyone else in that situation that the easiest way
around that would be to delete the contiki.cfg file. It would be
recreated automatically with the deafults next time you boot.
HTTP worked well definately looks different without multicolors and
graphics, but speed seemed more than adequate for text only.
FTP still needs work, but that information is on the web site i believe.
Would be nice to have a simple ftp from the command line, that you could
use.
Out of memory problems are interesting. Don't seem to affect anything. Never
got one with the screensaver, but did when switching from other programs.
Maybe they don't happen on a GS.
The web browser is a very tight fit. nothing else will load with the
exception of a screensaver while it is running. Other smaller apps will
load concurrently. You just have to experiment. In most cases i just run
stuff sequentially.
If a 65816 version was ever ported then that restriction would no longer
be an issue.
When/If I ever get the GS I won off ebay
I'll try it out. Of course that is nothing to the5 weeks waiting for a spare
power supply from this guy with an answer "I think I sent it today, not
sure", Sorry, digressing.
Anyway the manufacturing of this product is very professional. Just waiting
for FTP.
Thanks for the nice feeback.
I'll post more as I get the time, been playing with adding hard disks and
transferring disk images.
Have a fine Apple Day.
