BALONEY!

Color PC's came out in the EARLY 80's - what the heck do you think a CGA card was for? EGA and then VGA both also came out before 1989.

ALSO- NEC DID have an 8 color lcd laptop out in 1989 as if recall correctly..

So NO, you are NOT correct.

The schools did not have color PC's then, and no home I visited had them in 1989. But the schools had plenty of Apple IIgs with color monitors.

My High School had Apple II's with COLOR monitors.

Its just that Apple was again ahead of the game and I was unaware of the entire PC world outside of the K-5 school which I was attending, which had PC's, but not one was in color.

Shame. We had a computer program though. My first computer science
class was in high school.. the year, 1982 (and we weren't bleeding
edge.. though perhaps ahead of other schools).

I learned BASIC and Fortran in that class. I purchased my Osborne I
that same year (which I'll admit, wasn't color), but was a portable.
Now.. your statement about a color lcd laptop (that wasn't sewing
machine size with a CRT) not existing in the eighties... well that part
is more believable.
