the thread is getting a little pointless. Clearly we agree on more points
than not.

Have to mention the fact that the biggest flop in Zilog's history was the
Z8000 - a Z80 extension into
the 16 (if not 32) bit world. Never worked with this chip.

So maybe that was not such a great mistake on Intel's part...
