But he was talking about 20 to 25 years ago, when it was easy to get
boards to make your own Apple IIs, but not really a legal way of
getting the ROMs.  Nowadays, one could always strip them out of a
now cheap Apple II.  At the very least it's long past the days of
the Apple II, so copying the ROMs may not be the same thing as back
in the eighties.  The clone articles then would talk of asking the clerk
when nobody was around, and it being done under the counter.
