It's a ZIF type connector.  I don't remember how many pins it used, but I 
assume it is at least as many as the game connector on the motherboard.  
(If you still need more - let me know, I can get a picture up if need be).

I was thinking some sort of external connection.  I did come across this on 
the web (do a find on DPP-002):

Could it be for a touch window?  The monitor has velcro on the top and 
bottom - I had thought for a glare screen, but maybe they had a touch 
screen.  It may make sense since the rest of the machine was setup for 
assisted access...
