The system works.  I've had mine up for the past few days (kinda...
dealing with ISA server port forwarding issues).

As for the inactivity timeout, you would set that in the BBS software
itself so it can send the appropriate +++ATH0 string to the modem and
boot you off.  The Simple Socket Emulation within KEGS will keep the
socket open to TCPSER4j and that program will reset to a normal state
waiting for the next call.

As for the METAL.CONFIG, I posted what I have running and actually
works to make it as painless as possible for someone to fire up a BBS
using METAL.  GBBS and other softwares may vary.
