First of all, thanks for all the replies.

The 'mystery' card is a Microsoft Softcard, though it is not labeled as
such.

It looks like the bleed problem isn't the connector, but is as others
have said, a 'feature'.    It makes the screen basically unreadable,
but I'll mess around with different monitors to see if I can I can get
something that doesn't hurt the eyes quite so much.  Reds seem to be
the biggets problem, so it may have something to do with signal
strength.  I know red is pretty brutal for NTSC signals.

Now I'm off to hunt for some 5.25 floppies.  I work at the UW so I'm
sure there is a box of them *somewhere* I can...er...borrow.  Heck, or
department still as an old TERAK with 8inch drives, complete with OS
and applications.
