Morgan Davis's MD-BASIC is another option. It's an AppleSoft BASIC
editor and preprocessor that adds things like line labels and long
variable names, and the missing else to the if/then conditional
statement. It also adds while/wend, do/loop and repeat/until loops.

MD-BASIC itself only runs on a IIGS, but when you're finished writing
your program MD-BASIC turns it into 100% AppleSoft BASIC which will run
on any Apple II.

It's now available free from http://www.morgandavis.net/portfolio/mdg/
