Is it possible to extract copies of single files from a .dsk image file?

Is

there a program for either Windows or Linux that will make that

possible?

CiderPress (Windows, shareware)

FishWings (Windows, freeware)

Apple Commander (Java, freeware)

a2fid.c (any, freeware, build it yourself)

Google the above to find download sites.

I tried Fishwings but it won't work on CP/M formats. Apple Commander works
well, but now I've run into a different problem.

I have a bunch of Basis 108 user group disks that won't run on a standard
Apple IIe. The disks have a menu system -I'm not sure which one- which
appears to modify the format of each file. For example, a file called
readme.txt is changed to something like readme.tqt. When you load the disk
on a Basis 108, the menu system uncompresses(?) the files and allows them to
be run normally.

Is there a way to convert those files back to their original format so that
I can read them without dragging my Basis out of storage? In particular,
there are a bunch of newsletters and other documents that I would like to
extract to regular text files so that I can load them on my website.

Thanks.

Ernest

I think the files are Squeezed.

I don't know all that much about CP/M but I've heard of that before, though, not done by a menu.

There should be a tool somewhere... >.> maybe someone in comp.os.cpm would know.
