trying to find name of game

hello i'm trying to find a name of a game.

i played it at intermediate school around 1989/1990 . I am pretty sure
it was for an apple II computer. it was a 'puzzle' kind of game, where
you had to get a ball from one place to another (and sometimes  via
certian places.. you could place things that would change the direction
of the ball etc, of even the size of it, and certian parts would only
let in certian sized balls etc , and the levels got progresively
harder, where you have a limited amount of items to place, and it seems
almost impossible, and the solution was often quite clever or tricky.

i've searched high and low , but can't seem to find this game, or get a
hint on what it is called..

i hope someone here recollects it, before a part of my childhood is
lost for eternity (overdramatised)
