I had a //e do exactly the same thing when I got it.

I expected that a few weeks of use would clean its keyboard
contacts enough to clear up the problem, but though usage
improved the problem, it did not eliminate it.

So I removed the keycap carefully and squirted a drop or two
of contact cleaner into the switch at the key shaft, and pressed
it a few dozen times as the cleaner evaporated.  Problem solved.

For the record, if a keyswitch has not been physically damaged
or seriously contaminated (with Coke, for example), there is
practically nothing that can go seriously wrong with it beyond
dirt and contact oxidation.  Those problems are what contact
cleaner are made for.  Even "Coke contamination" can be fixed
by water rinsing, drying, and subsequent cleaning.
