Re: Monochrome vs color monitor

If you mean the AppleColor Composite, yes a monochrome monitor is
somewhat sharper, because of the phosphor dot pitch of the color-capable
monitor. A monochrome monitor has a continuous, un-dotted phosphor.

A monochrome monitor is also easier to focus sharply, since it has
only one gun, and no convergience problem to solve.

"Graphics" would be better in color, but if one was just interested in
text, I wonder if it would be worth while trying to scare up a
monochrome monitor in good condition. Does anyone have an opinion on
this?

True.

If memory serves, the monochrome was also lighter and smaller, making
it somewhat easier to continually remove it for tinkering with the
Apple underneath.

Also true. And a monochrome monitor consumes less power, as well.

One the other hand, explaining why I want a second 'old piece of junk
monitor' to my loving wife might be interesting. :-)
