I would have guessed that it was so the worldwide Apple II
community could have access to it.
If you're concerned about getting credit, you can easily
insert a "scanned by" notice and I doubt anyone would
begrudge you your due.
The web is a distribution means for most folks, unless
they have advertising on their page(s) and hope to make
money from visits... So, usually, the more sites mirror
the information, the better it serves its purpose and the
purpose of the original provider.
One could even say that anything that does _not_ get
copied to other sites is doomed to perish when your
personal site goes away (and they all eventually do).
