No, he didn't royally screwed, but the seller should not be trying to
sell ths machine as NIB when it is not.   There was a NIB //e recently,
but it was a late edition platinum version.

I have a white key capped //e in my warehouse it it's original box,
and the machine is so early, the box is a late model ][+ box with a //e
sticker covering the ][+ label on the side.

The guy bought several //e's and was smart enough to save the boxes,
and put the //e's back in the boxes when he was finished using them.
Should be a more accurate description.
