I used the original thread on the off-chance that the author see it.
Same objective as if I'd started a new thread, except this way, I can
use the original text itself to make clear what I'm referring to rather
than just copy-pasting it (which is similar enough to be silly) or
making a reference in my own words.

I should think that would be clear from the first message in the
thread.

One or two sentences about USENET etiquette would have sufficed instead
of paragraphs.  ANYway, I suppose I'll just start a new thread on this
subject at some point.  Sheesh.
