Yeah, I've read about the various software tools that allow an A2
(seemingly almost exclusively for the 2gs) to `do' the internet and that's
a Good Thing - one of these fine days (sooner than when I'd pick-up an old
Mac - though that's still somewhere down the road...), I'll set-up the gs
to try that; though I can already use my ][e and ProTERM to get to the
NG's, do email etc - though only at 2400 bps. Mind you, with it being all
text - the speed isn't too terrible. The VT100 emulation is OK ('cept for
the arrow-key emulation - that sucks) and the fact that my ISP has
a full-text access set-up, makes it workable; though I must admit that I
don't use my Apple for this very often - DSL and the requirements at work,
to use a PC; kind of force the issue. So - I can `surf' (though via text
only); so adding a higher-speed modem and trying the graphical route on
the gs will be interesting to see - and I'll eventually be able to do
this via DSL, it appears; but it looks like I'll not be able to network
them - only `internet' them. Oh well - c'est la vie.
...and Happy New Year, to all; though the tsunami has put a different face
on the near future hopes of mankind. Our hearts go out to those affected
and our wallets follow close behind.
