Rick Auricchio was one of the developers of the original ROM for theApple IIe!
All I can say is wow, it is so incredible to actually see what theoriginal development prototype of the Apple IIe looked like! I love howthe ASICs were designed by linking a board full of 74xx logic to themain board via 40 pin ribbon jumper cables! Also check out the picturesof the prototype MMU and IOU and the early IIe case...

Interesting, the pic isn't very high res but the board in the early case
looks like it's got another slot beside the Auxiliary slot
