The seeming perfection of board assembly is largely a result
of machine insertion of components--they have a hard time
getting it wrong. ;-)
When inserting and soldering by hand, if you don't know that
you should start by tacking down one contact on each "end"
of a connector, it's easy to get a small angle on it.
