When the //c+ came out, it was known that the expansion card didn't work -
the board wasn't fast enough. However, later production runs of the card
usually did work. As far as I know, Apple didn't change the part number
after they addressed the problem and so there's always been some confusion.
Whether you get a new or used card, you can only test and try it.

I do know that prior to the //c+ being discontinued, many Apple dealers
bundled the memory expansion with it to help it better compete with the
Laser 128/EX2.

And from personal experience, at least 4 of the //c+ machines in my
collection came with an Apple memory expansion card installed - they all
work fine. The others had Sequential cards in them - which upon comparing,
they look virtually identical.

I think Sun Remarketing is still selling them on eBay, and on their website.
