Thanks Marcus and Peter for the information you've given - it makes 
sense in that the French //e actually output more of a Brown & Yellow 
rather than Black and White - presumably my TV's attempt to decode SECAM.

I'll try the colour killer as well, and my Australian //e and see what I 
get.
