Newbe Apple Mail Question

Hi there,

I don't know if this is the right ng for this question but here goes.
A friend of mine uses Apple Mail (don't know which version) and just recently I sent him an email with a .jpg background (I use Mozillz on a PC running win98se). In his reply he asked me how to do this and silly me assumed he was using something similar to me. So I explained how to do it in OE 6. I did use a Mac (OS9) for a few months earlier this year but it was running a Mac version of OE and I never figured out how to do it on that either. ( I know, I'm just a dumb windows user LOL!)

Is this the right ng for this sort of question?
Can someone on this ng explain how to do it?
Can this even be done with Apple Mail?
Do I need to find out which version of Apple Mail he is using first or are they all basically similar enough for an approximate explanation? He said that there is a "Format" menu but he had no luck figuring out how to use a graphic as an email background.

BTW I did post this to comp.sys.apple2.usergroups before I realised that it's not for this kind of question. So this is not an intentional cross post.

PS. I have an old Apple 1mb that still goes but it needs a new floppy drive, are these (drives) still expensive?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and TIA for any responses.

And now your reward!

A pregnant woman is in a car accident and falls into a deep coma.

Asleep for nearly six months, she wakes up and sees that she is no longer pregnant. Frantically, she asks the doctor about her baby.

The doctor replies, "Ma'am, you had twins! A boy and a girl. The babies are fine. Your brother came in and named them."

The woman thinks to herself, "Oh no, not my brother, he's an idiot!" Expecting the worst, she asks the doctor, "Well, what's the girl's name?"

"Denise," the doctor says.

The new mother thinks, "Wow, that's not a bad name! Guess I was wrong about my brother. I like Denise!" Then she asks the doctor, "What's the boy's name?"

The doctor replies, "Denephew."
