Some early software was notorious for making assumptions, such as if a 
disk controller is in slot 5 and it's not a 5.25" floppy controller then 
it must be a ProFile card.

I think 1.3 was the first version of AppleWorks that supported more than 
the base 128KB of memory without using a third-party patch.
