Re: I would like to buy Prodos 8 or DOS 3.3 diskette.

Hello,
I assume you're using the cassette interface on the IIe? Just in case you
don't know, until you get a working OS, you can save the programs you write
to standard cassettes. I think the cassette out port sends at mic level
E.G. you want to plug it into the mic jack of your tape recorder. Assuming
you're programming in Basic, when you get a program done, just type "save",
start the tape recorder, and hit Enter. When you get a ] prompt, which will
be a while after you hear a beep, the recording is complete. To load from
tape, make sure the tape is wound to the proper spot, type "load" and hit
Enter. Start your tape recorder playing. You should hear a beep in a few
seconds. If you get something like ERR or ERRERR then an error was
encountered while reading the tape. If not, and you just get a ] prompt,
then the program has been successfully loaded.
Once you get a OS, with DOS 3.3 loaded you can still use the "load" command
with no filename to read from tape. Then use the "save" command with a
filename to save to disk. With Prodos, I don't think the tape commands
still work. Guess they figured that by the time of Prodos's invention
nobody was using tape any more.
Also, imho it's fun to listen to recordings of machine language programs.
Basic programs sound a bit borring to me.
Hope this helps!
Jayson.
