Re: Replacing the 6502 with a faster chip
i'm lately (since sept 2002 when bbs went down) one of those apple //
collectors who is great at collecting (i work nights at a group home..and
have mucho free time..to play with laptop/ebay etc) ....so that works
good..but that is my computer time...i teach shotokan karate at MSU
(Minnesota State U. mankato) 4x a week and run my butt off like most people
the rest of the week...and try to get a life the 3x weekend every 2wks i get
off....)...fix house ...try not to be in total isolation ..etc
so...don't have a shop (need to yank out cisteren ..make shop...) don't have
time....as some of you know i have a nice dozen siders i need to fix..so i'm
afraid i'm worthless for getting anything done but sniping things off ebay
for furture projects ..for that supposed day "when i have time to do
it"...endless loop...
now ..if say 1/2 dozen of you guys would move to mankato..for a retro
computer club..i'd pop up the gonzo www site and the tpro 4.2f RPG BBS on
one gs and the fv/metal 4.0xev BBS on the other //gs and the applenet dos
3.3 ver 1983 BBS (per prodos applenet) on the bell and howell...and apple
files etc..and viola all would be accessable again via www page and internet
for all to play on...
but ...unless i get some strang....er i mean motivated folks to stick around
southern minnesota for more then 2yrs to help...well...it is gonna be one
great apple // estate sale..(or landfill....),,when i kick off...
so anyway...i need a shotokan black belt and apple ][ enthusiast to go to
school or teach at MSU .and hang around mankato....so i can wrestle some
time to get something done.......kill 2 birds with one stone...
(for those interested i did get the house re-wired more/less and the
computer room etc..that only took me 1yr and 1100 bucks...for those who said
it could not be done...)
heck i'm still p/o'd at the other 4 sysops..moving away to bigger and better
things....root adm at unisys, nasa, pc net adm in colorado and ski
instructor....another guy a bartender/web designer.....jeez..didn't these
guys realize they were supposed to stay and mankato and not have a
career/life and wives to hold my hand and help me play bbs sysop/apple //
fixer'uper?....ungrateful/selfish buggers....
end of rant
but your right i need to do more and yell yes..but again it is 10:09 and i'm
off to the nite job....w/laptop.....i'll lurk here later...
(the whole zen thing where all you own is a bowl for food/and water..seems
attractive some days...)
