Thanks for the correction Michael. I looked up the hires colors for the II
rev 0 in " The Apple II Circuit Description" and it agrees with both you and
the FAQ. Still a little dubious, I ran the lores "color demo" off of the DOS
3.3 system master disk and the II's colors were in fact quite off. I was
wrong.

I really thought I had the FAQ that time. :)

I believe my TV monitor is reasonably adjusted. I use it for my classic
computer hobby, consoles, and the odd movie . My II+ displays colors
correctly on the same monitor. When the II rev0 came up on the monitor with
its oddly charming blue and orange fringed text, I believed that behavior
was normal.

On my monitor (a Commodore 1702), if I turn up the tint all the way and
color down really low I can get green and purple but they're really washed
out. Most of my toys are happy with the controls set fairly close to the
center of the range. Such extremes strike me as being odd. Perhaps there's
something wrong with the video circuit. Or maybe I've just been spoiled by
modern consumer electronics. :)

I was unaware that you could adjust color on the Apple II itself. Could you
point me to some directions on how to do this? It would be great if I could
adjust the video signal to display properly with a more conservative monitor
setting.
