In this age of numerically controlled machinery, I would expect that
any order less than a few hundred would be best made without a
die, but perhaps not by hand.

A machine-readable "drawing" would be the prerequisite for an
inexpensive NC-producible chunk of sheet metal.

IIRC, there's only one simple brake bend in the sheet--everything
else is cutting, drilling, and punching.
